The Carry Nation

Nita Aviance and Will Automagic are a New York DJ and production duo whose sound is woven into the history of the city's most affirming nightlife. Nita, of the legendary House of Aviance, was a resident at Mr. Black and Westgay, touchstones of queer downtown nightlife in the early 2000s. Will worked at The Loft alongside David Mancuso, held residencies at The Limelight, Life and Vandam, and co-created SPANK, the roving warehouse party with close ties to Horse Meat Disco. Together they're known for epic extended B2B sets and their monthly queer party, also called The Carry Nation, at Brooklyn's Good Room. They hold a residency at Ladyfag's Battle Hymn and have toured from Glastonbury's Block 9 to Berghain/Panorama Bar. As producers they've released and remixed for Classic Music Company, Nervous, TRAX, Get Up Recordings and more, and co-founded Major Records with Justin Cudmore. In the New York tradition, they flow through genres and eras while keeping a modern edge.
