Host Terms
The rules of the CATEGORY Host program.
Last updated: October 26, 2026
These Host Terms govern your participation in the CATEGORY Host program, run by Category Events LLC ("CATEGORY," "we," "us," or "our"). By applying to or participating as a CATEGORY Host, you agree to these Terms.
The commission rate and reward tiers below are set for Decadence and NYE only. CATEGORY sets new rates and tiers for each future event, and will communicate them to Hosts before that event's on-sale.
1. Commission
- Commission is paid on net ticket sales after refunds and chargebacks. Fees paid by the buyer are excluded.
- You do not earn commission on your own purchases, and codes can't be combined with each other.
2. Perks and rewards
Perks (guest list spots, table access, a free ticket) are set ahead of the event based on tickets sold, since they have to be arranged before doors open. Cash commission and bonuses are calculated after the event and are subject to refunds and chargebacks. Perks are specific to the event they're earned at and are non-transferable.
3. Code sharing
Last-day 50%-off codes are shared privately only — DMs, close friends, and group chats. Posting any CATEGORY Host code publicly, including on deal or coupon sites, ends your participation in the program.
4. Brand and conduct
Hosts may not impersonate CATEGORY and must follow CATEGORY's brand guidelines when promoting the event.
5. Payouts
Payouts are made by ACH within 14 days after the event.
6. Independent contractor status
Hosts are independent contractors, not employees of CATEGORY. A W-9 is collected at onboarding. Hosts paid $2,000 or more in a calendar year receive a 1099-NEC.
7. Ending participation
CATEGORY may end a host's participation in the program at any time.
